These are all words that describe the way that Etta Kelly feels about photography. Her goal, she says, is to “…translate my emotions and passion that I feel about photography into the images that I create for my clients”.
Kelly has a natural, “be yourself—forget that I’m here” approach, which allows her subjects to relax and be their true selves. This then allows her to capture the heart and soul of her subjects and of the moment. One of her bride’s says about Kelly “You are so wonderful…you make me feel so relaxed. You make it fun!”
Whether it is photographing children, families, a birthday celebration, a corporate dinner meeting, a basketball game, or a very special wedding day, Kelly strives to allow the enjoyment and excitement of the event to flow, with an unobtrusive, sensitive approach. The results are a timeless collection of natural, spontaneous moments of your special occasion, with an understated attention to detail. Says one of her clients, “They are the best pictures I have of me and my mum.”
Kelly’s photography is as diverse as her clients, having photographed all types of events. These include weddings, quinces, Bar & Bat Mitzvahs, sweet 16’s, birthday and retirement parties, family reunions, individuals, couples, and family portraits, boudoir, models and dancers’ composites, and other commercial photography, just to name a few.
Kelly’s commitment and passion for the moment is evident in her photographs. The photographic style that she uses is customized to the client’s needs, which could be a combination of a photo journalistic approach, with touches of tradition, combined with a unique edge. In any work that she photographs, says Kelly, “…I hope to bring a warmth and depth of understanding of the human spirit that I feel.”
